Frequently Asked Questions

  • Just click here and you'll be taken straight to our calendar with class options! If you have questions before booking, you can write us and we'll be happy to help.

  • Nope! Our members range in experience from beginner to expert, and we routinely introduce brand new participants into the mix, explaining the basics and then offering guidance throughout.

  • Definitely not! We reserve partner work for more experienced boxers. Nobody will be throwing punches at your head unless you really want them to, and even then, we’d probably say no.

  • Yes! Space in class is limited! Click here to reserve your spot.

  • No, no, and no. We have gloves that are sanitized after every class and wraps that are laundered after every use. While boxing shoes are helpful, they’re definitely not necessary to box proficiently or get a good workout. That said, if you’re going to come regularly, we’d recommend getting your own gloves and wraps, for a better fit and so you’re the only person sweating in them!

  • Contrary to what you might think, boxing is one of the lowest-risk sports (as long as you’re not actually fighting and trying to knock the other person out). There’s little risk of typical sports injuries like ankle sprains and back muscle strains, and you can work at your own pace, especially if you’re being mindful of an injury or don’t feel 100%. Obviously, if you are feeling ill in a way that could be infectious, stay home.

  • Very few people complain of any hand-related pains or aches from boxing. You wrap your hands and knuckles for protection and support, and then you wear padded boxing gloves designed to absorb impact. And the bags themselves have some give, designed to further reduce stress on your hands, elbows and shoulders.

  • Nonsense! Boxing can be for anyone. The environment in our classes is casual and friendly, even in the thick of an intense workout, and any sort of competitiveness is replaced by a pervasive camaraderie. And just because you don’t consider yourself aggressive doesn’t mean you can’t whale on the bag. Maybe it’ll be the perfect outlet for the frustration and stress you didn’t even know you were carrying!

  • Every class we teach is for all levels, and we’re used to running classes that can be intensified for advanced boxers, particularly during one-on-one pad work. And as any boxer knows, you’re the one ultimately determining how much you sweat!
